AshantiGold CEO Cudjoe Fianoe has disclosed that midfielder Bernard Morrison was not ready to stay with the club hence the decision to transfer him to any club of his choice.

Many have criticised the management the Ghana league leaders for allowing the transfer of one of their most influential midfielders but the CEO has revealed that the player was not ready to stay on with the club.

"If you have a wife and suddenly she calls for a divorce, would you still want to stay on? The boy had clearly revealed to us that he wants to leave so we couldn't take any risk of holding on with him", Fianoe told Ghanasoccernet.com.

"That is the boy's future. Just a few days ago we all heard what Ali Jarrah said. We don't  want any player to blame us tomorrow for blocking his career chance so we had no option than to let him go. We tried yo talk to him not to go out but he said that is his choice. So we can't block him but to let him go".

"He is now with the tram gor medicals. If he is able to meet their expectations and passes the medicals, we will release his card for the team".

Bernard Morrison is the second player after Yakubu Mohammed to be transferred from the club with two matches to end the Ghana league season.
