Ex-international Mallam Yahaya has accused the Ghana FA for fueling betting activities in football by allowing companies to sponsor teams.
Issues concerning betting have been brought to the fore since the public revelation by BA United coach Mohammed Gargo of his players involvement in betting.
Gargo even suggested that his players deliberately throw matches to make financial gains with betting companies.
The Ghana FA say they are concerned by this brewing development and have referred the matter to the security services for investigations.
But former Ghana midfielder Yahaya says the GFA is to be blame for encouraging betting companies to associate with football through sponsorship.
“I think the GFA needs to do something about it especially when betting companies are sponsoring teams,” he said.
“Something need to be done about it.”
