Former Ghana President John Kuffour admits Asante Kotoko have lost the shine that made it one of the feared clubs in Africa.
The Ghanaian champions have struggled to compete favourably against their contemporaries in the CAF Champions League in recent time.
Kotoko have been very dominant on the domestic scene winning the Ghanaian top flight title for the past three seasons.
They have however always fell short in Africa.
And the former Head of State who was once the chairman of the club concedes the club’s clout has declined.
“Life is up and downs. Perhaps Kotoko is not in the best of times now but you shouldn’t forget that Kotoko still is not rivalled by any other team in this country in terms of championships,” he said.
“Kotoko has so many times the champion of our nation and even on the continent of Africa, you can’t talk about three or four clubs in the whole of Africa without talking including Kotoko.
“So Kotoko, if its not shining now, I believe will bounce back and I am hoping it will be sooner than later.”
