Former France captain Marcel Desailly expects Christian Atsu to reclaim a starting role at Everton when he returns to the English Premier League side after the Cup of Nations.
Atsu endured a difficult start to life at Goodison Park, where he is on loan from Chelsea.
But the 23-year-old has been the star of the tournament in Equatorial Guinea with breathtaking performances for Ghana.
He started in all the five games for the Black Stars, winning the Orange man-of-the-match accolade on two occasions against South Africa and host Equatorial Guinea.
He has become the mainstay in the Ghana set-up and now in top contention to win the Most Valuable Player award and Dessaily expects him to reclaim his position in the Everton squad.
"To me Atsu has stated his case at this tournament to the likes of Chelsea and even Everton where now Samuel Eto'O has left so I believe when he goes back they will give him more playing opportunities than before. He's a real star and I believe he will come good in the English Premier League," the Ghana-born said.
