Ex-Chelsea and England Star Set to Enter the 'I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here' Jungle

Published on: 07 November 2016

It's that time of year again as we gear up for another two weeks of watching quasi-famous celebrities take on crazy 'bush tucker trials' and eat detestable creatures in the Australian jungle.

And one of those 'unfortunate' celebrities set to take on the dastardly outback is former England international "?Wayne Bridge who was confirmed by the 'I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here!' Twitter page as being one of the stars to go down under.

Bridge made 315 Premier League appearances playing for Southampton, Chelsea, Manchester City, Fulham, West Ham and Sunderland in a distinguished career that also saw him earn 36 England caps.

But since finishing his playing time at Championship outfit Reading in 2014, the former left-back has kept a low profile, which makes his 'I'm a Celeb' venture rather peculiar.

Perhaps the fact Bridge is married to former S Club 7 Junior and current The Saturday's member Frankie Bridge might have something to do with this career shift...

Or maybe Bridge just needs to get away for a couple of weeks. Who knows.

What's for certain is the 36-year-old won't be the first former Premier League star to have Ant and Dec tell them to eat kangaroo testicles, as the likes of John Fashanu, Neil 'Razor' Ruddock, Kieron Dyer and Jimmy Bullard all took on the jungle.

The popular show is set to hit the small screens on Sunday.

Of course, surprising absolutely no one, Twitter was quick to have its say on the matter:
