Everton midfielder Martin Sheriff has admitted a betting offence and been fined €6,000 by the Football Association (FA), according to Marca.
Sheriff allegedly made 61 predictions on a series of matches played between 20 November 2024 and 12 February 2026. The bets had a combined value of about €2.3m.
The player said he had not personally placed the bets, but accepted that they were made through accounts registered in his name and funded by him.
The regulatory commission said Sheriff had shown “genuine remorse”. As a result, the FA decided not to impose a sporting suspension and instead issued a financial penalty.
