Everton boss Roberto Martinez has hailed the intelligence of Ghana forward Andre Ayew for his quick adaptation to the Premier League ahead of his side’s clash with Swansea.
The 25-year-old has hit the ground running since his summer arrival from Olympique Marseille as a free agent.
Ayew has scored three goals for Swansea while already establishing himself as one of the most influential players with the Welsh club.
The impressive exploits of the Ghana international was recognized with his award as the league’s Player of the Month for August.
Roberto Martinez who will be traveling with his side to the Liberty Stadium to face Swansea on Saturday is already dreading a meeting with the ‘intelligent’ Ghanaian forward.
“He’s been very impressive. You don’t often get that sort of adaptation so quickly,” Martinez noted.
“You need to be a very intelligent human being away from being a footballer to do that.
“He has adapted to the physicality of the league, he is a clever footballer, technically very gifted and he gets in very good goal scoring positions and is calm and composed.”
Ayew has gained instant respect with his impressive and consistent displays for Swansea since his arrival.
His goal and sumptuous assist in Swansea’s epic win over Manchester United is often referenced as Ayew’s finest moment so far in the Premiership.
