Everton: Alisher Usmanov considering renewed investment, reports suggest

Alisher Usmanov could seek to resume his financial involvement with Everton, according to reports.

GOAL says the possibility was raised by radio presenter Alan Brazil during an appearance on talkSPORT.

The report follows an announcement by Everton’s current owners, The Friedkin Group, that they are considering options for bringing in additional investment. Those possibilities include selling a controlling stake in the club.

The American group completed its purchase of Everton in December 2024.

Usmanov’s previous connection with the club dates back to 2017, when USM Holdings, a company linked to the businessman, agreed an £11m deal for the naming rights to Everton’s training ground.

He later became a sponsor of Everton’s women’s team.

Any attempt by Usmanov to renew his involvement with the club would be complicated by sanctions imposed on him by the United Kingdom in March 2022.
