Enyimba of Aba are on their way to Brazzaville, Congo for their CAF Confederation Cup clash with Carra Brazzaville next Wednesday.
The two-time CAF Champions League winners kicked off their group phase campaign on a winning note by defeating Djiloba of Mali 2-0 on matchday 1 at the UJ Esuene Stadium last week.
“UPDATE: Today, we depart Lagos for Brazzaville to take on CARA. #CAFCC,” Enyimba tweeted in the morning on Saturday.
Hours laters, the club tweeted: “Off we go: to Brazzaville via Addis Ababa. Send us your love, #Elephants! #CAFCC.” The tweet was accompanied with pictures of the players on board the plane, ready to take off.
Second-half goals from Isiaka Oladuntoye and Stanley Dimgba gave the seven-time Nigerian Professional Football League champions a perfect start to the CAF Confederation Cup Group Stage.
Enyimba, on three points, lead Williamsville Athletic Club from Cote d’Ivoire in Group C on goal difference.
Cara Brazzaville and Djoliba of Mali occupy third and fourth places with no points.
