How Enyimba Have Fared Against South Africa Clubs Ahead Of Sundowns Tie

Enyimba's confrontations against South African clubs in the CAF Champions League as they brace to fight for a lifeline away win against hosts Mamelodi Sundowns at the the Lucas "Masterpieces" Moripe Stadium in Pretoria on Wednesday, July 29 2016. The People's Elephants have not won an away match against any South African side.

AJAX CAPE TOWN VS ENYIMBA Enyimba's first meeting against a South African side  in the CAF Champions League was on June 26, 2005 with Ajax Cape Town their opposition.  The game ended in a 1-1 draw.

ENYIMBA  VS AJAX CAPE TOWN The Peoples Elephant won the reverse fixture 2-0  on August 21  at the  Enyimba Sports Stadium. The result was however not enough to book a place in the quarter- finals with Egyptian side Al- Ahly and Raja Casablanca of Morocco progressing  into the next round.

ENYIMBA VS  ORLANDO PIRATES Enyimba met a South African team for the second year in a row  in the 2006 edition of the competition. Once again, it was in the group stages of the competition with Orlando Pirates their opponents. The Peoples Elephant were held to a 1-1 draw by the Buccaneers  who fielded their former midfielder, Onyekachi Okonkwo in the first fixture in Aba.

ORLANDO PIRATES VS ENYIMBA The Aba giants  lost  the reverse fixture 1-0 at the Orlando Stadium, Johannesburg  with their former player Onyekachi Okonkwo scoring the decisive goal. The defeat cost the Aba giants a place in the last four with their opponents moving into the semi-finals alongside Ivorien side, ASEC Mimosas.
