Manchester City are being linked with a £6m attempt to sign Augsburg defender Baba Abdul Rahman.
Reports in The Sun suggest that Manuel Pellegrini’s side are set to make a £6m bid for the 20-year-old left-back.
City scout Gary Worthington reportedly flew to Germany to watch the Ghana international in Bundesliga action last week.
The highly-rated full-back, capped 11 times by his country, is solid defensively and good going forward.
He arrived at Augsburg from Greuther Furth last summer, but is said to be available this summer. His current club are apparently prepared to cash-in on Baba’s status as one of European football’s hottest prospects.
Baba is the latest in a long line of left-backs to be linked with summer moves to the Etihad. It looks set to be an area in which they strengthen ahead of next season.
Aleksandar Kolarov, one of the current options in that position, could be offloaded, the report suggests.
