Eguma refuses to give up on Enyimba's Confederation Cup hopes

Enyimba technical adviser, Stanley Eguma, remains optimistic about his team's chances of qualifying for the next round of the 2024/2025 CAF Confederation Cup, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Despite being held to a 1-1 draw by Egyptian side Al-Masry at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium on Sunday, Eguma believes that Enyimba can still turn their campaign around.

The Aba club moved up to third position in Group D with five points, while Al-Masry had six points. Egyptian giants Zamalek top the group with 11 points, while Mozambican club Black Bulls are bottom with four points.

"It's not the end of the road," Eguma said in a post-match interview.

"We still have the next game to play. If Al-Masry can come here and play the game of our lives, we can go to Egypt, and who knows what the outcome of the other games will be. We are still optimistic, it is not over until it is over."

Enyimba will need to win their remaining games and hope that other results go in their favor if they are to qualify for the next round.
