Eguavoen unveil strong starting lineup for Benin Republic clash

Super Eagles head coach Augustine Eguavoen has named a formidable starting lineup for Saturday's 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying fixture against Benin Republic.; Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Chippa United goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali will start between the sticks, shielded by a three-man defence comprising captain William Troost-Ekong, Semi Ajayi, and Calvin Bassey.

Nottingham Forest star Ola Aina and Bruno Onyemaechi will provide width as the two wing-backs, while Wilfred Ndidi and Alex Iwobi will control the midfield.

In attack, Bayer Leverkusen's Victor Boniface will lead the line, supported by Ademola Lookman and Samuel Chukwueze.

Eguavoen's 3-4-3 formation is expected to provide a balance of defensive solidity and attacking flair, as the Super Eagles seek to avenge their 2-1 defeat to Benin Republic in June.
