Wolverhampton Wanderers F.C. manager Rob Edwards has praised Tolu Arokodare for his decisive contribution in the team’s 2–2 comeback draw against Brentford FC, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
Arokodare came off the bench with Wolves trailing 2–1 and made an immediate impact, scoring the equaliser just three minutes after his introduction in the 74th minute. The goal marked his third in 26 appearances in the Premier League this season.
Brentford had looked set to seal the contest before halftime after racing into a two-goal lead and creating several chances to extend their advantage. However, Adam Armstrong pulled one back for Wolves before the break to spark the comeback.
Reacting after the game, Edwards commended the impact of his substitutes, highlighting Arokodare’s crucial role.
“But I thought all the subs came on and affected the game really well – Tolu got his goal, Angel, Rodrigo, I thought they all had an effect,” he told the club’s official website.
The Wolves boss also admitted there were defensive lapses early in the game but praised his side’s resilience.
“I think we were playing well anyway. There were a couple of mistakes that we had made – we didn’t defend the cross well, we didn’t stop the cross, we didn’t defend the cross – and that was something we’d been speaking about all week with Brentford’s threat as they’re really effective with that,” he added.
Arokodare’s lively cameo once again underlined his value to Wolves as they continue their fight in the league.
