Former Barcelona assistant Eder Sarabia has been appointed Espanyol manager on a contract running until June 2028.
The 46-year-old succeeds Manolo Gonzalez, who was dismissed on Tuesday after Espanyol suffered a 4-3 Copa del Rey defeat by fourth-tier Sestao.
Sarabia joins Espanyol after two seasons in charge of Elche, during which he led the club to promotion before helping them retain their LaLiga status.
His first match will come on Friday, when Espanyol host Villarreal.
Espanyol are 18th in the LaLiga standings after 10 games, with eight points.
Sarabia previously worked as assistant manager to Quique Setien at city rivals Barcelona, spending seven months with the club in 2020.
