The Ballon d’Or winner will be announced at a ceremony in London on 26 October, with Bayern Munich chief executive Jan-Christian Dreesen saying Harry Kane deserves to claim the award.
The 33-year-old England striker scored 61 goals and provided seven assists in 51 appearances last season.
Kane helped Bayern Munich win the Bundesliga, the German Cup and the German Super Cup. He also won the World Cup with England.
