Akwa United winger, Ubong Ekpai has been a star performer for the club this season and though they current sit in 8th position in the Nigeria Professional Football League, Acting Chairman, Paul Bassey say they are ready to let him leave.
Ekpai , who is currently with the Nigeria U-23 team, it was revealed has completed his move to Israel’s Ligat ha’Al side, Maccabi Haifa, has also stated that he will not return to the club after the Olympic Games in August.
In a chat with footballlive.ng, Bassey said the club will benefit from sell-on and other clauses though he came short of disclosing how much Ekpai’s transfer would cough into the Uyo-based club.
