Diego Perotti signs new contract with Roma until 2021

Diego Perotti scored the lone goal of the game as Roma secured their passage to the round of 16 with a first-place finish in Group C. Diego Perotti has signed a new three-and-a-half-year contract with Roma.

The Argentinian winger, 29, joined the Giallorossi in January 2016 and has since made 78 appearances in all competitions, scoring 17 goals.

After extending his deal with Roma until June 2021, he told the club's official website: "From the first game I have felt very at home here. I have enjoyed some of the best moments of my career here, and I hope to experience many more. I'm very happy."

The news comes two days after Perotti scored the winning goal against Qarabag in the Champions League as Roma defied expectations to top Group C.
