French-born Ghanaian defender Dennis Appiah was in superb shape for Caen who condemned Olympique Lyon to a 3-0 defeat in the Ligue 1 on Saturday afternoon.

The 22-year-old former AS Monaco youth team player started the game for Caen at the Stade Michel d'Ornano as they recorded a memorable win.

The victory has pushed Caen further away from the relegation zone but might have to the end of the season to beat the drop.

Appiah was born to Ghanaian parents in Toulouse, France but has not represented the Western European country and could still play for Ghana if he is approached by the Ghana Football Association.

I just dont get it Guys like this are playing week in week out and i dont know why they are never called. Should we hear France want to cap him now, we will be jittering. This guy, bernard Mensah, Elvis Manu, Ofosu Aryeh, etc can make our national team very competetive

Hi actus may, thanks for your opinion but what if he finally plays for Ghana? Would you kill yourself? I know you responded that way due to the way our foreign based players are treated after they choose to play for Ghana. After all, Ghana is still our country. Have a nice weekend
