Dele-Bashiru: Super Eagles deserved more against Rwanda

Super Eagles midfielder Fisayo Dele-Bashiru believes his team deserved more from their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying clash against Rwanda, which ended in a 0-0 draw on Tuesday, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The Super Eagles created several scoring opportunities at the Amahoro Stadium in Kigali, but failed to capitalize on them with several chances gone begging.

Dele-Bashiru acknowledged the difficulty of playing away from home, but expressed frustration at the team's inability to convert their chances.

"I think we played well, it was going to be difficult, playing away. They have their fans cheering them. Of course, there are a lot of circumstances to consider too," the Lazio midfielder said.

"The problem is that we couldn't convert our chances, we created a lot of chances to win the game. We have to take the positive that we didn't concede."

Despite the draw, Dele-Bashiru remains optimistic about the team's chances of qualifying for the Africa Cup of Nations, saying, "This result will definitely boost our chances of qualifying for the AFCON. It is not the result we wanted, but definitely not a bad one."
