Former England midfielder Dele Alli has been offered to Serie A club Monza, with the 30-year-old potentially in line for a return to Italian football.
Alli has been without a club for a year, since leaving Como. According to transfer insider Nicolo Schira, the attacking midfielder’s services have now been offered to Monza. It remains unclear how interested the Serie A newcomers are in pursuing the opportunity.
Alli joined Como but made only one appearance for the club. He came on as a substitute against Milan in March 2025, although his involvement was cut short when he was sent off soon after entering the game.
Following that dismissal, Como manager Cesc Fabregas did not select Alli again. The England international subsequently departed the club and has remained without a team since.
A move to Monza would represent another chance for Alli to revive a career that once saw him regarded as one of English football’s most promising midfielders. However, there is currently no indication that negotiations have progressed beyond his name being presented to the club.
Before moving to Como, Alli played for MK Dons, Tottenham Hotspur, Everton and Besiktas. He established himself at Tottenham Hotspur after joining from MK Dons and was previously valued at €100m by Transfermarkt at the peak of his career.
Transfermarkt now estimates his value at €1m, underlining the change in his circumstances during a period in which regular first-team football has proved difficult to secure.
His most recent competitive appearance remains the brief spell for Como against Milan, when the red card prevented him from making a sustained contribution. Fabregas then opted not to involve him in subsequent matches before Alli left the club.
Monza are the latest Italian side linked with the former England player, although the extent of their interest is not yet known. The proposal gives Alli a possible opportunity to return to Serie A, but he remains without a club at present.
Alli’s previous clubs also include Everton and Besiktas, while his highest recorded market valuation came during his time at Tottenham Hotspur. His current valuation, according to Transfermarkt, is €1m.
