Real Madrid defender Dean Huijsen says he does not expect the club to face major difficulties in their bid to become Spanish champions, despite their derby defeat by Atletico Madrid.
Asked whether he believed winning the league would be particularly difficult this season, Huijsen told OkDiario: “No. I think everything depends on us. We will see how everything turns out.”
Real Madrid suffered their first setback of the campaign in the seventh round of La Liga, losing 2-1 away to Atletico Madrid.
The result leaves Jose Mourinho’s side fourth in the table on 15 points. Leaders Barcelona have 21 points.
Real Madrid will look to close the gap when they host Villarreal on 10 October. The eighth-round fixture is scheduled to begin at 22:00 Moscow time.
