Tottenham head coach Roberto De Zerbi said his side showed they were unwilling to accept defeat after Rodrigo Bentancur was sent off in the 1-1 draw with Manchester United.
Bentancur received a red card in the 78th minute of the sixth-round Premier League match after striking an opponent with his head.
De Zerbi said he liked the reaction from his players following the dismissal, although he acknowledged the situation should not have escalated to the point of a sending-off.
“We showed that we do not want to accept defeat,” said De Zerbi.
Tottenham equalised in the second minute of added time to secure a point against Manchester United.
