Tottenham head coach Roberto De Zerbi says Tosin Adarabioyo has earned the opportunity to play after the defender made his first start of the season in the 3-1 Premier League win over Coventry.
Adarabioyo was named in the starting XI for the seventh-round fixture, having previously featured twice for Tottenham across all competitions. He has made three appearances this season but has not recorded a goal or an assist.
De Zerbi also highlighted Marcos Senesi’s display in Tottenham’s previous league match, a 1-1 draw with Manchester United.
The Tottenham manager’s comments came after Adarabioyo was given his chance from the beginning against Coventry. The defender has now been involved in three matches this term, although he has yet to contribute directly to a goal.
Tottenham sit 16th in the Premier League after seven rounds, with six points.
