Italy midfielder Davide Frattesi says he did not watch a single match at the World Cup after his country failed to qualify for the tournament.
“ I didn’t watch a single World Cup match, not even the final,” said Frattesi, who changed clubs during the summer.
Italy’s absence was particularly painful for the players, with Bosnia and Herzegovina taking their place at the finals.
The last time Italy appeared at the World Cup was in 2014. The national team have won the competition four times in their history.
