David Duncan is closing in on the Kotoko job after entering advanced negotiations with chief executive Samuel Opoku Nti and could be confirmed by the close of the week, GHANAsoccernet.com can reveal.

The former Hearts trainer has expressed interest in taking over from under-fire Mas-Ud Dramani.

The Ghanaian champions are keen to make a swift appointment to spark an upturn in results with the side enduring an unflattering start to the season.

Kotoko are keen to part ways with Dramani who has seven months left on his current deal and appears he will be pushed out irrespective of his current stance.

The club was forced to deny reports suggesting the former Ghana Unde-17 female team coach had been asked to proceed on leave amid mounting speculation surrounding his future.

The Porcupine Warriors are desperate and are looking for a man who can transform their downward spiral and many see that in Duncan.

Since being sacked at Hearts two years ago, Duncan has this season come close to returning to management at Great Olympics and Aduana Stars before each move fell apart.

Dramani has lost the support of the board, management and majority of the supporters making it easy for the club to dispense with his services without much acrimony.

The club will however need o fork out huge sums of money in compensation if they terminate his contract.
