David Alaba is set to join Udinese on a one-year contract, according to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano.
The Austria captain is expected to move to the Italian club as a free agent. Alaba has been without a club since leaving Real Madrid in the summer.
The 34-year-old began his career with Austria Wien before moving to Bayern Munich at an early stage. He spent 12 years in the German club’s system and went on to establish himself as a versatile defender.
Alaba played for Real Madrid from 2021 to 2026. His proposed move to Udinese would give him a return to club football in Italy.
Udinese are not competing in European competitions this season. The regular Serie A side currently have four points and sit 13th in the league table.
