Liverpool’s 3-0 defeat by Manchester City was transformed by Ryan Gravenberch’s dismissal in the second half, according to former Reds striker Daniel Sturridge.
The teams were level when Gravenberch was sent off midway through the second half. Manchester City then took control and scored three unanswered goals to secure a convincing victory in the sixth round of the English championship.
The result was Liverpool’s first defeat of the season.
