Ghana defender Daniel Opare is gutted by Besiktas’ 2-1 defeat to Club Brugge in their Europa League clash on Thursday.
The Eagles blew away a second half lead to ultimately lose the game played in Brugge.
Slaven Bilic’s side were determined to avoid a defeat in the first leg clash to strengthen their advantage in next week’s return encounter.
They looked set on their way to securing the desired result when Gokhan Tore opened the scoring just a minute into the restart.
De Sutter scored in the 62nd minute to pull the hosts level before Refaelov stepped up to convert a penalty with 11 minutes left to play.
Daniel Opare who lasted the entire game as he continues to prove his return to good form insists it was a game his side shouldn’t have lost.
“It was not a match we really should have lost,” he said after the game.
“We made a couple of mistakes and we were punished for it.
“We need to correct our errors and turn things around in Istanbul.
“Losing was unfortunate but this match is now in the past.
“Now we need to focus on the next game. League is very important for us."
