Getafe have signed former Real Madrid defender Dani Carvajal on a contract running until the end of the season.
The 34-year-old became a free agent in June after ending his long association with Real Madrid, for whom he made 451 appearances and won 27 major trophies.
Carvajal is one of only five players to have won Europe’s elite club competition six times. He began his senior career at Real Madrid and also spent one season with Bayer Leverkusen.
The right-back made 51 appearances for Spain, helping his country win the Nations League in 2023 and the European Championship in 2024.
His move to Getafe could give him an opportunity to play against Real Madrid for the first time since leaving the club. Getafe are scheduled to visit Real Madrid in January.
Getafe are currently 14th in LaLiga, with eight points from their opening eight games.
