Ashantigold chief executive Kudjoe Fianoo has sensationally revealed he will choose David Duncan over Bashir Hayford 'on any day' due to his ‘professionalism’, in a subtle vote-of-no confidence in his own trainer.

The outspoken football administrator reposed his confidence in the newly-appointed Asante Kotoko coach and extolled many of his immense qualities.

“Those who don’t know Duncan will say a lot of ill things about him but having worked with him for a long time, I can tell you that he is a professional” he told Happy FM

“He doesn’t like interference because he wants to be allowed to do his job.

“Between Duncan and Bashir Hayford, I will pick Duncan on any day. Duncan always confers with those he works with and takes criticisms in good faith."

But the public admiration and comparison between the ex-Hearts trainer and Hayford has been widely viewed as a subtle damning verdict on the professional conduct of his current coach.

Hayford has guided the miners to the top of the table after 10 games but that doesn’t seem to have won his boss over.

Duncan, who is known for his no-nonsense approach, left Hearts under controversial circumstances two years ago.

But he has finally agreed to sign for Hearts’ sworn rivals Kotoko after weeks of intense conjecture.
