Dalung washes hands off appointment of foreign coach

Minister for Youth and Sports , Barrister Solomon Dalung has come out to clear the air on his stand over the appointment of a foreign Coach for the Super Eagles, stating he had acted in good faith to discourage the move by the NFF.

Nigeria’s failure to qualify for the Africa Cup of Nation next year Gabon spurned calls from within the FA to name a substantive coach; having executed the two legged qualifiers with a indigenous coaching crew.

Dalung disclaimed reports that he gave the Technical Committee of the NFF any form of approval to employ a foreign handler for the team. He stated that he had demanded the technical report from the qualifiers against Egypt as well as question the wisdom of negotiating the mode of paying a foreign coach with sponsors without putting in a good word for the indigenous coaches.
