Nigeria International Cyriel Dessers helped Rangers FC to a comfortable home victory over Hibernian in the Scottish Professional Football League matchday 31 fixture on Saturday, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Dessers scored Rangers second as they defeated Hibernia 3-1 at Ibrox Stadium on Saturday to go top, 2 points ahead of  rivals, Celtic.

James Tavernier hit a perfect volley that beat Will Fish on 26 minute to put Rangers in the lead.

Myziane Maolida restored parity for the Hibs 2 minutes after 45 minutes before the Super Eagles striker returned the Light Blue's lead 5 minutes later as the first half came to an end.

Dessers was later substituted for Fabio Silva on 79 minutes before Rabbi Matondo doubled the lead for Rangers 10 minutes later.

Matondo cut inside onto his right-foot and sent a perfect long-range strike into the back of the net to seal the win for the home side.

Meanwhile, Cyriel Dessers became only the fourth Rangers player since 2000 to score in three consecutive league games against Hibernian, following on from Dado Prso between Aug 2004 and Feb 2005, Kris Boyd between Oct 2009 and Feb 2010 and, most recently, Jermain Defoe, who scored five goals in a three-match run between May and December of 2019.
