Crystal Palace consider Sean Dyche as Pierre Sage’s future comes under scrutiny

Published on: 27 October 2026

Pierre Sage’s position as Crystal Palace manager is increasingly uncertain following a 2-0 home defeat by Newcastle.

William Osula and Harvey Barnes scored for Newcastle, adding to the pressure on the Frenchman after Crystal Palace’s 5-0 derby defeat by Brighton.

No decision to dismiss Sage has been announced, but chairman Steve Parish and the club’s management are carefully assessing the situation. Several possible replacements are already being discussed.

According to derbyderbyderby.it, citing The Telegraph, former Burnley, Everton and Nottingham Forest manager Sean Dyche is among the leading candidates to succeed Sage.

Dyche’s experience could be considered particularly valuable if Crystal Palace become involved in a fight for survival.

Other names being considered include Thomas Frank, who has previously managed Brentford and Tottenham, and former Ipswich Town boss Kieran McKenna.

Crystal Palace supporters would like to see Frank appointed at Selhurst Park. The club’s hierarchy reportedly made enquiries about the possibility of appointing him during the summer.
