Former Liverpool striker Peter Crouch has backed Victor Osimhen, describing the Nigerian forward as a proven and reliable goalscorer compared to Ipswich Town's Liam Delap, reports Nigeriasoccernet.com.
Regarding the potential summer transfer moves for both players, Crouch acknowledged Delap’s promise but emphasized Osimhen’s consistent top-level performances over the years.
“I think Delap has shown he can compete in the Premier League, but it’s only been one season,” Crouch said. “Osimhen, on the other hand, has been doing it consistently for years. As much as I like Delap and rate him highly, if I had to choose, I’d go with Osimhen — you know exactly what you’re getting.”
He added, “Osimhen is proven. A top striker can change the dynamics of a game and win matches you never expected to.”
Osimhen is currently leading the goal-scoring charts in the Turkish Super Lig, delivering impressive performances for Galatasaray.
