Congo midfielder, Philtzgerald Mbaka, has vowed his side will give their all to beat Ghana and advance to the final round of the Caf U-23 Championship qualifiers.
The coach Claude Le Roy U-23 side will be hosting Ghana’s Black Meteors in a second leg fixture at the Complexe Sportif de Pointe-Noire on Sunday. Kickoff is at 14:30 GMT (16:30 CAT).
Ghana won the first leg 1-0 from an Enoch Ebo Andoh strike in Accra the previous weekend and have a tricky test ahead in Pointe-Noire.
Mbaka is aware of Ghana’s credentials but maintains the Red Devils’ resolve is to score two or three unanswered goals to see the Meteors out of contention.
“Ghana will give everything, work tirelessly until the final whistle,” the Getafe reserves forward said.
”We need to score 2, 3 more goals and make an effort not to concede and in order to get Ghana out.
“I know this is not a small team at the continental level and it will not be easy but we are determined to make a feat on Sunday,” he ended.
Mbaka marked his debut for Congo in the first leg in which he started but got substituted after 71 minutes.
Meanwhile, Caf has handed officiating duties to Cameroonian trio led by centre referee Henry Duvalier Mouandjo Kalla who will be flanked on the lines by Sadou Hamadou and Pierre Enyegue as assistants.
The aggregate winner of this game meets Nigeria in a final fight for one ticket to the Caf-U23 Championship in Senegal.
