Nottingham Forest have extended versatile Nigerian defender, Ola Aina's contract until 2028 following a pivotal role in the club's historic run last season, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
Having established himself as a key part of the team since his arrival from Torino back in 2023, he achieved won possession in the defensive third more times than any other player in Europe’s top five leagues in the last season, a stat that further solidifies his importance in the team.
"Since the moment Ola joined the Club, we have loved his influence and personality on the team. He’s someone we all enjoy working with every day", Chief Football Officer, Ross Wilson stated.

“Everyone can see how much he gives the team on the pitch, and we also see every day what he brings off the pitch to our group. Ola shares our ambition and believes in the direction of the Club, and we are delighted he has further extended his time here”.
On extending his contract, Aina said: “I’m over the moon, I can’t wait to continue this journey with the Club. It’s always felt like a home ever since I joined and I’m happy to be here. Now my focus is on preparing for the new season well and getting back to hard work.”
The upcoming season could mark another significant milestone for Ola Aina, as the Nigerian international is just four appearances away from earning his 50th cap for the Super Eagles. Reaching this landmark would further highlight his enduring contribution and consistency at the international level.
