Hearts of Oak coach Herbert Addo is counting on his side’s strong away form to oust Esperance from the CAF Confederation Cup.

The Phobians must account for the Tunisian giants over two legs to make it into the group stage of Africa’s second tier club competition.

Hearts have the upper hand over Esperance going into this clash.

The Rainbow club famously beat the Blood and Gold in both legs to clinch their first and only CAF Champions League title in 2000.

Herbert Addo team’s away form has been much better than when playing at home.

Most of the impressive victories secured so far came on hostile grounds.

And Addo is banking in this trait to get past the Tunisian giants.

“I am hoping that going there first is going to help us because we are very confident in our away trips,” he said.

“So if we go there we will have to try and win the match there [in Tunis] not in Accra, that is my belief.

“My boys have also got that belief and I think management, everybody has got that belief so let us hope we all go as one force with the same objective.”

Hearst are away to Esperance in the first leg clash on the weekend of May 15-17 before returning home to finish off the tie on June 7.
