Super Eagles defenders, Jamilu Collins and Shehu Abdullahi are unavailable for Nigeria’s final AFCON Group B match against the Barea of Madagascar on Sunday, due to injuries, reports Completesports.com.
Collins who trained separately from the rest of the squad on Friday has been sidelined since picking up an injury in training on the eve of Super Eagles’ tournament opener against Burundi last week Saturday.
The SC Paderborn of Germany defender started running for the first time on Friday and also did drills involving the ball and cones before heading off for some gym work
Abdullahi, on the other hand, started Nigeria’s first game against Burundi but was substituted three minutes before break after picking up an injury.
He is yet to resume full training with his teammates.
“Collins and Abdullahi are still out but they are recovering well. We don’t want to take risks with them tomorrow,” Super Eagles head coach Gernot Rohr told reporters in Alexandria on Saturday.
In the absence of Collins, Torino defender Ola Aina, has filled in at left-back, while Chidozie Awaziem has featured at the right-back position in place of Abdullahi.
