Colchester United striker of Nigeria descent John Akinde has been named in the EFL Team of the Week after catching the eye in his side's 3-1 road win over Harrogate Town this past weekend.
Akinde was the only player of Nigerian descent included in the EFL Team of the Week comprising the top performers in the League One and League Two.
At Wetherby Road on Saturday, Akinde got Colchester United off to a fine start with a cool finish into the bottom corner in the 12th minute.
