Enyimba head coach, Olanrewaju Yemi, ahead of super Sunday clash has tipped rivals Rangers and Remo Stars as favourites to clinch the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), Nigeriasocernet.com reports.
With equal number of games played in the NPFL, the Flying Antelopes are on 61 points, two more than Enyimba and Remo stars who are both tied on 59 points.
In anticipation of Sunday’s oriental derby at the Nnamdi Azikwe Stadium, Enugu, Yemi acknowledged the strength of the opposition.
“We are taking every game at a time as we aren’t the favourites for the title,” Yemi told the club’s media team. “Rangers and Remo Stars are the overwhelming favourites to win the league.”
Despite this, Yemi stressed Enyimba's commitment: “We want to compete till the end. Even if we don’t win, it shouldn’t be because we didn’t give our best. We won’t back down.”
He added, “We will go to Enugu and respect Rangers. We want to enjoy ourselves, whether at home or away. Whatever comes out of the game, we will take it.”
