Samuel Chukwueze says the trust shown by Ruben Amorim and the regular playing time he has received at AC Milan have helped him rediscover his confidence.
The 27-year-old Nigeria international was speaking exclusively to Footy-Africa while on duty with the Super Eagles. He described his current situation as much more positive after a period in which opportunities had been limited.
Chukwueze believes a consistent run of matches has been central to his improvement. Playing more minutes, including completing games, has allowed the winger to recover his rhythm and feel more comfortable on the pitch.
He also sees his continued selection as an important indication that he has the backing of his coach. For Chukwueze, that support has provided a significant boost as he attempts to establish himself more firmly at AC Milan.
The Nigerian also acknowledged that managers differ in their methods and expectations. He believes adapting to those different approaches is part of a player’s development and says Amorim’s way of working has helped create a fresh sense of belief.
The winger’s improved form follows a loan spell at Fulham last season, when he scored three goals and provided four assists in 25 appearances.
After returning to Italy, Chukwueze quickly adjusted to Ruben Amorim’s demands and has taken on a more important role in the AC Milan system. He has made five appearances so far this season, starting four of them, and has supplied two assists.
Chukwueze has set ambitious targets with the Rossoneri and wants to continue contributing as his involvement increases. He ended his comments by stressing his determination to achieve significant objectives with AC Milan.
The Nigeria international is under contract with AC Milan until 30 June 2028. His value is estimated at 20 million euros by Transfermarkt.
Chukwueze previously earned an annual salary of 7,192,224 euros, equivalent to 4,674,945,600 FCFA, in England.
AC Milan are due to face Sassuolo in the sixth round of the Italian championship very soon. The listed odds are 4.00 for a Sassuolo victory, 3.60 for a draw and 1.68 for an AC Milan win.
