Christian Atsu wants improved concentration against Algeria

Published on: 21 January 2015

Ghana winger Christian Atsu admits the Black Stars must improve on their concentration ahead of their crucial game against Algeria on Friday.

The Black Stars suffered a massive setback in their opening Group C game with a 2-1 defeat to Senegal on Monday.

The situation leaves Avram Grant’s team desperate for a win in Friday’s second group game against the tournament favourites.

And Christian Atsu who missed a glorious chance to double Ghana’s lead in the defeat to Senegal says the team needs to heighten its concentration throughout matches.

“We lost the game [against Senegal] at the last minute and when you lose like that it means you are lacking concentration,” the Everton loanee said.

“So we’re going to correct this in training.

“We had a meeting after the game – all the players – and we know what happened.

“We are really determined to fight for Ghana in the next game.”

This guy annoys me big time.He plays virtually nothing yet he gets called up and e worse of it is that he gets to start almost all games. Why should this benchwarmer be playing while the likes of Solomon asante and acheampong sit on the bench?Grant should be bold and bench atsu, dede, badu and jonathan mensah. All above mentioned players are spent forces.

Just shut up, u these players talk too much. Be serious and deliver. To be frank Ghana lack quality players. If players like afriyie acquah, atsu, rabiu, wakaso, Jonathan mensah, accam, and Kwesi appiah is what Ghana has, then we shd not be too disappointed on the results we are seeing . Mediocrity at its best. Apuuuu

What Atsu needs is better end product, that is, goals and assists. Dribbling the whole field with no goals or assists is pointless. His Porto teammate, James Rodriguez set the World Cup ablaze with end product. Will Atsu ever do the same? Up your game, bro. You have massive potential to do so.
