According to a new report by Mediotiempo.com, Mexican giants Chivas are looking to strengthen their goal for the upcoming tournament.
The club's focus seemed to be on the midfield in the past few days, with El Rebano Sagrado repeatedly linked with a couple of midfielders, but now Technical Director Ricardo Pelaez's attention has turned to a new goalkeeper, several sources close to the Guadalajara side confirm. In the report, it is said Pelaez held talks with veteran goalkeeper Jesus Corona, who is currently playing the LigaMX final with Cruz Azul. In these talks, Corona reportedly told Pelaez that if he was able to win the title then his transfer to Chivas would be a "done deal", while if they failed they would have to negotiate some more.
Corona is intrigued to return to Chivas, after he defended the Rojiblancos goal in 2005; he would be the starter for one year with the idea of retiring afterwards and start working with Chivas youth development. In case the deal goes through, then current goalkeeper Antonio Rodriguez would be the odd man out.
