Chivas interested in young midfielder for the upcoming Apertura

In a new development for Chivas, sources close to the Jalisco side have revealed to ESPN Mexico that El Rebano Sagrado have put midfielder Marcel Ruiz in their sights.

Chivas have been looking to strengthen their midfield, as it was one of the team's weak spots in the last tournament, and have been looking in that direction ever since their exit at the hands of Pachuca. In the last few weeks it was rumored that they were looking to bring Pachuca midfielder Erick Aguirre to Guadalajara, but the negotiation seems at a standstill, given that los Tuzos have asked for Fernando Beltran and Ricardo Mayorga in exchange, a price too steep for Chivas top brass.

According to the report, they have now turned their attention to Tijuana midfielder Marcel Ruiz, who Chivas manager Vucetich knows very well, having coached him while at Queretaro. The deal seems very possible, as Ruiz has not had a great role with Xolos, and Chivas could be a chance for him to shake things up. The Rojiblancos are also reportedly interested in Tijuana's winger Jaime Gomez, also at Queretaro with Vucetich.
