Super Falcons goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie has expressed her delight after being voted Fans’ Player of the Match in Brighton & Hove Albion’s 0-0 draw with Aston Villa in the English Women’s Super League (WSL), writes Nigeriasoccernet.com.

The 24-year-old made her WSL debut in the encounter, writing her name into the history books as the first African goalkeeper to feature in the league.

Nnadozie, visibly emotional, thanked supporters for their encouragement in a video shared on Brighton’s official X account.

“To be honest, it’s a dream come true. I’ve been dreaming of playing in the WSL,” she said. “Playing in it with this great team feels so special. It’s a day I’ll never forget.

“The fans really cheered me up. They said some good words and urged me to keep going. I hope we’ll keep getting better.”

Nnadozie, who joined Brighton after an impressive spell with Paris FC, has already established herself as one of the most reliable shot-stoppers in women’s football and a key figure for the Super Falcons of Nigeria.
