Chelsea are prepared to sell goalkeeper Robert Sanchez after signing Emiliano Martinez, with Tottenham and Como reportedly competing for the 28-year-old Spaniard.
Journalist Ekrem Konur reports that Chelsea have made Sanchez available for transfer following Martinez’s arrival. The London club are said to be willing to consider offers ranging from €24.5m to €28m for the goalkeeper.
Tottenham and Como are currently understood to be the clubs pursuing Sanchez, although no agreement or formal bid is mentioned in the report. Chelsea’s decision means the goalkeeper’s position at the club is now uncertain, despite his contract running until 2030.
Sanchez has made one Premier League appearance during the current season and conceded twice in that match. He was not included in Chelsea’s squad for their most recent game, a 4-3 victory against Brighton.
The goalkeeper’s omission came after Chelsea completed the purchase of Martinez, with the arrival of the Argentina international apparently influencing the club’s willingness to listen to offers for Sanchez. Chelsea have therefore placed a financial value on the Spaniard and are ready to assess proposals that fall within the reported €24.5m-€28m range.
Sanchez remains under contract with Chelsea for another four years beyond the current campaign, with his deal due to expire in 2030. However, the club’s reported stance suggests that his long-term agreement will not prevent a transfer if a suitable offer is received.
Tottenham’s interest would give Sanchez the possibility of remaining in London, while Como are also involved in the race for his signature. The two clubs are the sides currently linked with a move for the goalkeeper, according to Konur.
The report does not indicate whether either Tottenham or Como have made an offer, nor does it provide details of any proposed contract for Sanchez. For now, Chelsea are said to be waiting to see whether an interested club is prepared to meet their valuation.
Sanchez joined Chelsea’s current goalkeeping picture with his future now under review after Martinez’s arrival. His limited involvement in the Premier League this season and his absence from the squad against Brighton have added to the uncertainty surrounding his role.
Chelsea’s reported asking range of €24.5m to €28m represents the figure that could determine whether Sanchez leaves the club. With Tottenham and Como monitoring the situation, the next step depends on whether either side turns its interest into a bid acceptable to Chelsea.
