Chelsea are nearing a deal to sign Spanish forward Samu Omorodion from Atletico Madrid, as the Spanish club seeks to raise funds for their own transfer business, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports
Atletico agreed an £81.5m deal to sign Manchester City's Julian Alvarez on Monday, and selling Omorodion will help finance the move.
Personal terms according to BBC have been agreed with Alvarez, who will join for an initial £64.4m, with potential add-ons taking the total to £81.5m.
In a separate deal, Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher has agreed to join Atletico for £33m. Omorodion, 20, joined Atletico last summer but was immediately loaned to Alaves, where he scored eight goals in 35 appearances.
Although Omorodion is currently representing Spain at the Olympics, he is still eligible to play for Nigeria in the future.
The young forward's move to Chelsea is expected to be finalized soon, as the Blues continue to strengthen their squad.
