CHAN 2024: CAF reveal date and venues

The Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF) has officially confirmed the dates for the upcoming TotalEnergies African Nations Championship (CHAN) 2024, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Following a meeting of the CAF Executive Committee in Nairobi, Kenya, CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe announced that the tournament will take place from February 1st to 28th, 2025.

The qualifying process for CHAN 2024 will kick off with the first round of matches scheduled for the weekend of October 25-27, 2024 with the tournament itself set to be hosted in East Africa, with the specific stadiums and venues to be announced at a later date.

Senegal currently hold the CHAN title, having defeated hosts Algeria in the final two years ago.

CAF President Dr. Motsepe recently conducted a visit to some of the potential venues in Kenya that are being prepared for CHAN. While expressing satisfaction with the progress made and the commitment of the Kenyan government, he emphasized the need for concerted efforts to ensure that all facilities are ready for the competition.
