Carrick’s Manchester United future in doubt after worst Premier League start

Published on: 11 October 2026

Michael Carrick is at risk of losing his position as Manchester United manager following the team’s poor performances this season.

The Red Devils have made the worst start in Premier League history, collecting six points from their opening six matches.

According to The Touchline, body-language expert Darren Stanton has identified signs of concern in Carrick’s behaviour that could indicate he fears a dismissal. The confidence previously evident in the 45-year-old Englishman’s actions has reportedly given way to visible irritation and nervous gestures.

Stanton also noted that the Manchester United manager appeared to be trying to avoid eye contact.

It is suggested that Carrick could be sacked before November unless the team’s results improve.
